My Blog…

April 3, 2008

Sometimes I wonder why I blog. True it is a space for personal reflection. I would however like to host discussions on given topics on my blog. This has only happened on one or two of my blog posts. Kyle and I often discuss this as it is one of my biggest frustrations regarding my professional blog. Kyle keeps reminding me that I need to build my network and create a space that is inviting to people where they might want to comment and share their opinions regarding my blog posts. Here is a brief Skype text chat between Kyle and I from today regarding this very subject.

Do you feel this way about your blog and your posts? Is this feeling unique to me?

Sometimes I feel as if I am speaking to the mirror when I want to be talking to people…

WestCast 2008

January 9, 2008

As a informational item, I have submitted a proposal to present with a colleague (thekyleguy) at this year’s WestCast. Earlier this week I was informed that my proposal was accepted and that I will be presenting. I haven’t received any specific information as of yet but look forward to this opportunity. Yeah for Kyle and I!

Our presentation is titled: Through Many Peoples, Strength: Online Networks. We have prepared an interactive workshop for attendees. Our presentation aims to prove that The network is more powerful than the node (individual).

Recently, Kyle Lichtenwald has found out he will be working with people such as Alec Couros and Dean Shareski. Kyle is currently finishing his second diploma from the University of Regina, the latter being from the Faculty of Education. What an opportunity to work with these projects. Kyle will have much to learn and to offer to his colleagues.

Check out Kyle’s about page. He has taken an innovative measure to creating his about profile on his blog. People everwhere are saying good things about Kyle’s work.
