I Am In The Current- Episode 2 is complete. It has been licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 2.5 Canada. Please listen to the podcast and leave feedback.
This podcast continues to be one piece of my professional growth plan for the 2008-2009 school year. I have strategically set this goal of reflecting, podcasting, and discussion this subject with my online network to grow professionally.
This podcast was recorded today in my basement suite using Garageband on my Macbook and iMac. This episode features three samples from Depart’s 2008 release Mountain Messenger: I’m a Road Runner, Hip Hop Tamus, and Mountain Messenger. I hope this musical track makes the podcast more interesting to listen to.

It’s exiting to have so much going on in my life that I have no time to touch or add to my blog. This year, my professional goal is to create podcasts about the Read To Succeed program at my school. I have yet to produce a single podcast however I look forward to tackling this reflective process.
In hopes of doing something with my blog I decided I should change the banner- something I seem to do seasonaly. The new banner is picture taken from Mister Wind-Up Bird’s photostream (see the Flickr account here). I keep using picnik to modify these Flickr images to create my banners. With picnik I cropped the original imge, added an effect the image with the “1960’s” filter, and added my blogs title. I text of choice has always been Arial or Arial Narrow but for this banner I chose Daniel font.
I would love to hear your thoughts regarding the new banner! Check back for the first podcast.

It has been a long summer away from my blog. Originally I had decided to take a break from blogging to complete a few necessary renovations to my house so that I may sell it.
This intentional break from blogging was lengthened by a house fire.
A long story short- a box fan started a fire in my house when I was half done the renovations. I am now waiting for my crispy house to be torn apart and rebuilt by my insurance company. Overall dealing with my insurance company and the independent adjuster assigned to the claim is slow and very painful (insert Jerry Seinfeld joke here).
I am now in Saskatoon working my little heart out trying to get a handle of my new teaching duties with Saskatoon Public Schools .5 of my teaching duties is a French-Immersion Read To Succeed. I am working with students from grades 4-7 who are reading at least 2 grade levels behind. The intent of the program is to give a “double-dose” of Language Arts so that students may be more successful in their homeroom classrooms. The program has a special focus on non-fiction texts and tries to incorporate subjects and themes from the students homeroom programs.
My professional goal for this year is to make a series of podcasts about what is going on in my “Read To Succeed” program and general observations. So far I have no titles in mind. I would like to keep the podcast brief to under 20 minutes per episode.
Keep checking back for updates and the new podcast!
